Martin Jullum is a Senior Research Scientist at the Norwegian Computing Center, holding a PhD in Mathematical Statistics from the University of Oslo. He develops methodology in the domain of Explainable AI and works on practical data-based problems in the finance and insurance sectors. For the past five years, Martin has served as Principal Investigator for Fraud Detection at BigInsight, a 150 MNOK-funded center for research-based innovation. In close collaboration with industry partners, his team has developed next-generation data-driven methods for combating insurance fraud, money laundering, tax evasion, and the like. Martin is also involved in the newly established multi-bank regulatory sandbox project exploring information and data sharing between banks to prevent financial fraud and scams.
