Catherine Janson has been the Director of the Police IT Unit (PIT) since February 1, 2021. She previously held the position of Division Director for IT and Development at NAV. Janson has extensive experience in developing digital products and services, including business development, product development, and application development. She has a background as a mechanical engineer and economist, with additional qualifications in marketing. Janson began her career in the oil industry, then moved on to work on the Gardermoen railway project, staying until the Airport Express Train's first departure. In 1998, she transitioned to the IT industry, spending 16 years as a consultant and 5 years as an employee at NAV IT.
